Elizabeth Hightower Stanley

Mrs. Stanley graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education. She graduated from the University of Houston in 2013 with a Master of Education in Counseling.

Mrs. Stanley has worked as an elementary school teacher and high school counselor before transitioning to full-time mental health counseling. She has worked with clients from ages 4-70, but most of her work has been with adolescents and young adults. Some of her specialties are anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem, relationship stress, life transitions, habit-building, and recognizing and addressing harmful behavior patterns. She is also an expert in the college admissions process and has experience with career counseling.

Mrs. Stanley uses a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solutions-Focused Therapy to cater her counseling to each client’s needs. She believes her clients are the experts on their own lives and works with them to improve their contentment, coping skills, and mental health. She often uses humor to lighten the mood when counseling.

Mrs. Stanley is married with two young children and enjoys outdoor activities like surfing, stand-up paddle boarding and going on walks with her family. She also enjoys traveling and trying new things.
